"The Bombing of Germany" - American Experience/WGBH

Holy Cow! The footage of "The Bombing of Germany" is fantastic!
What's most wondrous, is that the Berlin shots are so clear, in focus, and not grainy. Those Germans sure made nice film cameras, lenses, and film.

End Bits - Freekin COLD Edition

GDP +5.7%? After talking to a builder at Victor's Deli today who mentioned Somerville house sales are getting record breaking $ per sq. foot, I wonder how do we measure the econ recovery?

10 Second Campaign

If I may ask 10 seconds of your time, please nominate me for 'Best Bartender'. You don't need to fill out any more of the form. Pathetic I know, but there are some decent perks:

Gaslamp Killer - 20 January 2010, MidEastClub

First off, I'm bummed I missed all but the last 3 minutes of "voiceS voiceS", as they seemed like an artsy couple of ladies, in the realm of Cibo Matto, but I had to attended a lovely gathering in JP. Also the last act, "Prefuse 73" were fun, a 3 piece with a drummer playing a kit through a mixer fed into the cross fader, a keyboardist/sampler, and a lead DJ/vocalist (often using 2 mics at a time).

Hell Night - East Coast Grill, 14 Jan 2010

Crazy stuff.
Stand outs tonight were the peel 'n eat shrimp, RI stuffed clams, and actually the wings. Really liked the clams with whole kernels of corn, nice chunks of clam and serrano peppers. Wings were a simple red pepper flake/cayenne hot, but burnin'.

Entree highlight was the Indian Lamb 3 ways, with sausage, Denver ribs and chops. Pork shank was a disappointment and the ribs were enormous but not that tender. My one bite of Pasta from Hell was (again) no fun at all, but my sinuses are clean. I brought the 1/2 Chicken home as we way over ordered.

Google.cn

Wait, did Google just take on China?

"We have taken the unusual step of sharing information about these (cyber) attacks with a broad audience not just because of the security and human rights implications of what we have unearthed, but also because this information goes to the heart of a much bigger global debate about freedom of speech."

"We have decided we are no longer willing to continue censoring our results on Google.cn..."

This is going to get good.
