Autumn is a great time of year for river-running. All the summer bugs are gone, and all the summer camp groups too. The foliage is beginning to turn, and the water levels usually have started to recover somewhat from their late-summer slump. (Less photosynthesis going on in the forest means less water being sucked up by the trees.) The nights are cool for comfortable sleeping, but the river is still warm when you fall into it.

Just a taste:

The social calender says a 3 night trip, but at Q 2 days ago it was said we'd need to leave on the Wednesday. Could we do the Thursday? Car camp Thursday night, on the water Fri/Sat/Sun nights? Drive Monday.
