All-purpose book thread 2.0

Time for a new one of these threads.

Anyway:

Light in August , William Faulkner. Grad school, if nothing else, helped me widen my palette. This is the third book of his I've read -- along with 'As I Lay Dying,' which was a big influence on my thesis/novel, and 'Sound And The Fury,' which I need to read again to fully understand (but was great regardless).

Congrats, Andre Dawson!

On getting into the Hall of Fame! What a great player, glad to see this happen!

RIP (Retail) Twisted Village 7/25/10

Can you hear me sobbing all the way from Monson?

I saw also a 'for lease' sign on the Newbury Comics retail space in Amherst, MA, although no formal closing message. I am praying they are just moving or something.

Anyone w/ easy Cambridge access really needs to go again before Twisted Village is no more.

Shellac Monday September 6th

Tuesday September 7th is my last personal day at work for 2010...
