a baseball analogy

If hitting a 90mph fastball with a bat from 60ft is the most difficult thing in sports; then how difficult is it if you took the bat away from the batter and gave them a baseball instead? GMD Fails "We say to those tyrants who believe they can blackmail America and the free world - you fire, we're going to shoot it down," [Bush] said at a campaign stop in Ridley, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 17. Great. Bush taunted Iraqi insurgents to "Bring it on.", let's hope N. Korea keeps it's missiles in it's pants.

Well, depends on what you mean by "hardest." I had a lot of debate about this in college. You could say that pitching a perfect game or throwing a touchdown pass is harder as these happen with much less frequency. But if you mean the "hardest thing that is the basis of the game" like throwing a completed pass (60%), shooting a jump shot (42%), or getting a base hit (25%), I'll take scoring a goal in hockey: amazing athletes, puck goes faster than 110 mph, and a shot that scores happens about 10% of the time (and that's "shot on goal".) Not to harp your analogy...

OK, so shrink the goal down to the size of the puck, and have it moving around at 110mph.

That's what the goalie does. All of my shots hit the goalie right in the glove, what's that get me for accuracy?

They should stick you on a missile, ala "Strangelove".
