What's funny about college football right now is that half of the press it gets is about how badly the BCS works. And now that the Associated Press has
called for a cease and desist of the BCS using AP standings in the ranking (which were always less biased than the ESPN/coaches poll), it seems the NCAA will get more free publicity for years to come.
This year 2 undefeated Div 1-A (not AA) teams, Utah and Boise State, will not be in the Championship tournament, and Texas which lost a game, will be as the #4 seed.
"Well what about mutual opponents?" you ask. OK, Utah beat Texas A&M handily by 20 points (they were up 27-0). Texas beat A&M by 13, but A&M was up 13-6 at halftime. Huh?
I have said it before, I will say it again: If you refuse to do a tournament of 16 teams or even 8 teams, so all of the undefeated teams get a chance to win "The National Championship," then don't do it. Give me a Rose Bowl Champ, an Orange Bowl Champ, a Fiesta Bowl Champ, and that's it. Stop the Season.
Then maybe I'll care about it....
