Im diggin this idea!

Maybe we could do variations of this, where someone reviews a portion of someone else's record collection.

Id love to do Mike's "J"

I'd love BQ to do all my W-Z, or at least Z.

Most of "Z' would probably consist of "This is Total Bullshit" over and over and over again...

(In Christmas Tree Shops sidenews, I got a 300+ cd Tower to contain Zorn output only for $12 USD... not bad)

Really, if you think about it, it's kind of all about the "B" section that are the most interesting, no?

For instance, the "B"s in my iPod: Band, Barbaro, Basehead, Battles, Beach Boys, Beastie Boys, Beatles, Beck, Beta Band, Big Star, Bjork, Black Flag, Blur, Books, Brainiac, Breeders and Butthole Surfers.

Haven't really even begun with that letter, too

What's up with all this "skronking"?

Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-06-08 13:06:43 +0000
Ahem. At Oyster River High, we called that scromping. May I presume you don't mean definition #5?

And anyway, I was thinking of
Soft Boys
Sonic Youth
Sex Pistols
Smiths
Small Faces
Sinatra
Slint
Sugarcubes
Superchunk
Social Distortion

etc.

Byron Coly is probably blushing somewhere re: all the skronking.

P is going to be fun, as well. but it always is.

I always refered to "Skronk" as extreme sax playing on my radio show.

Some free jazz connected with me in ways that I can only correlate with Minor Threat / Bad Brains / Black Flag / except that it was acoustic. mmmmmmmmm Acoustic Hardore!!!!

Im probly way off base w/ whatever you guys are talking about.

I reckon Rory was referring to the Shel Silverstein definition, so in response I cheekily referred to the sex definition. You, however, have hit the proverbial nail on the head. Jazz is indeed the primary realm of the skronk.

Huzzah!

I did use the phrase 'bleak, serrated post-guitar skronk' when reviewing Milemarker, and then used the phrase again referring back to a previous review. Good ol' Rory.
