Worcester is pretty barren for Record shops these days.
I would check out Albums on Highland Street if you are looking for some vinyl. There is almost no punk/indie rock but they have a ton of old vinyl.
When Thurston Moore played the Space I led him there. He seemed to like it. Otherwise try Newbury comics on Rt 9 in Shrewsbury.

I could probably order bottled "musty basement and BO essence" from those web stores, but somehow being there is better....
The latest basement shop to go to war with my olfactory nerves was a used cd shop next to the Pleasant St Theater in Northampton...
