my linked content for the week

I've been holding out, but these are all pretty good (click for it):
  • More vitriol than Chunklet: 50 Most Loathsome People 2004
  • from the glob: "[Belichick] saw something and he alerted me and it turned out to be huge. It was an adjustment -- I really can't go into it," said Johnson.
How did Belichick know that Bettis would run with it? Why can't Johnson go into it? Diebold & Ohio must somehow be involved.
  • Did anyone else catch this last week? I got some quotes in Friday's paper. My favorite exchange (emphasis mine):
IMUS: Why don’t we make Israel do it? R. CHENEY: Well, one of the concerns people have is that Israel might do it without being asked, that if, in fact, the Israelis became convinced the Iranians had significant nuclear capability, given the fact that Iran has a stated policy that their objective is the destruction of Israel, the Israelis might well decide to act first, and let the rest of the world worry about cleaning up the diplomatic mess afterwards. We don’t want a war in the Middle East, if we can avoid it. And certainly in the case of the Iranian situation, I think everybody would be best suited by or best treated and dealt with if we could deal with it diplomatically. IMUS: We already have a war in the Middle East, don’t we? R. CHENEY: Well, we do in Iraq certainly. IMUS: Yes.
  • All the local news channels thought a story on the amount of snow on Cape Cod (really, we _know_ how much snow is out there) is more important than this. I love you, America. (Thanks, MFGR)
