My C4RT diary

02.13.2005

Great Scott: I was impressed with the club. Reminded me a bit of the Blind Pig back in good ol' Tree Town. I hear Great Scott is the new/old Mideast. We'll see. History will show/has shown that "Instant Karma" is best performed by a six-piece time travelling pop-rock ensemble. I'm still learning/I never did learn about Howard Jones, I may never/never did "get" the Jones fagen. However: It sounded a bit like the theme from Miami Vice. The stage act is improving. Jon Cheadle needs more singing time, IMHO. I'm happy to reproduce my best heckle here: me: Turn back the clock! me: Turn back the clock! me: Turn back the clock! c4rt: That's not a clock, that's a time machine. me: Turn back the time machine! Looking back/forward to an appearance with Hank Scorpio in March.

If I may: the c4[rt] website was pretty slick when it was just the "iPod". Now, the metaphor is a bit broken and clunky. PS: Where do I get off calling a metaphor broken? PPS: That's it... It get off calling a metaphor broken.

As long as we're on the subject of heckles, here's my best, to the Now Denial: "This song is called Blood Feast." "What's it about?" "It's about a feast of fucking blood." "What kind? Is it like blood sausage?" "It's any kind of fuckin' blood you want." "AIDS blood?" (silence)

The website employed the iPod as a metaphor for site navigation. When all it did was play songs, that was pretty clear and clean. Now, it's doing all these other things, which, doesn't seem to jive with the iPod scheme. Granted, I don't own an iPod, so, maybe it does jive. I liked the mystery of just the iPod image and nothing else... sorta like saying "Here, you figure this out". Now, it's Just Another Band Website(tm).

We needed to have a picture of the band up there pronto, so I took the opportunity to add some more shit. It'll go back to being wierder anon. Plus, in the photos I look like Alan Vega.
