media bias

http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000517184 Of course this isn't shocking. It's the same with academia as well, people with "liberal" values are drawn to these professions over jobs in finance and management. I think there's an obvious difference between editorial content and news. While your political leanings are meant to show through on the Op-Ed page, they shouldn't come through on the Front Page. Granted story selection and placement may reveal an underlying bias. It's a fact that the Bush Administration has morphed it's justification for war in Iraq from stopping an imminent threat into a humanitarian mission of liberation. It's a fact that President Bill Clinton received oral sex from a n intern in the Oval Office. That stuff is pretty clear no matter which outlet you get your news from. Does FOX news tend to remind people of the first item when cover speeches by President Bush? Maybe not. Does the NY Times? Maybe yes. Frankly I don't see media bias as a problem, I see media indifference by the population.
