new cue/splinter bid

While playing a couple hands by myself recently I'd like to propose we play the cue/splinter 3 level bid. I know tgl's been playing something like it, but it just makes sense. After left hand opponent (lho) opens and partner overcalls at the one level, a cue bid of lho suit at the three level is game forcing 14+ points, with a singleton or void in opponents suit. Is this wrong? It seems to me on the right track... What is standard here?

I'm waiting for the sky is smaller than the sea bid, personally.

The splinter I learned does not involve competition. A double jump shift on your partners (opening) one of a major means opening strength, four card support of the opening suit and first round control (ace or void) in the bid suit. Splinters: 1S-4C 1S-4H 1H-4C 1H-3S

Oops, the splinter bind denotes a void or singleton. It does not mean first round of control. Cue bids are for controls.
