I think I put it more like this:
Buying a house is like quitting smoking: You have to try and fail a couple of times to figure out how to do it right and feel good about what you've done.
Nevertheless, condolences, I know you were excited. The second house you don't get is easier than the first... you learn to not get too excited about it until it's in the bag.
