My thoughts on this:
a) Kids walk near the street all the time, and paranoid parents (soon to be one) think they're going to die. Then when they are "saved" they make way to big a deal about it.
2) This is all part of the sports media conspiracy to control our emotions about players (which is why the Boston media is trying to get us to dislike Johnny Damon, so we won't be upset when he's not resigned) which is, of course, all part of the greater media conspiracy, to placate us with sports so we'll pay less attention to the real news (I know I pay less attention to the real news during baseball season) which is, of course, bipartisan, however, currently working out well for the Republicans in Boston, as all of the WEEI talk show hosts seem to be very much so.
III) Who the fuck lives on Martha's Vineyard? Martha? What the fuck, no wonder he likes A-Hole and the MFY
