PG phone home - rideside appreciation post

Today's my first day off in 16 days - chilling out at the kitchen table, listening to Ramstein (yes, Ramstein) and Metallica on headphones and hoping I didn't piss too many people off in my work-addled delirium last night. Lots of pent-up agression. I just wrapped up a conference in Rotterdam, and have been in meetings for an October conference in Berlin, one in London this November, and next October's conference in Bucharest. Boston's really on my mind - thinking about all the old haunts (mainly Allston & Cambridge) and all the old haunters. It's so nice to be able to come home to my flat in Amsterdam and "come home" to all you grumpy-ass peeps here on rideside. Sayin'.

Ramstein is SO under appreciated.... 'Lost Highway' anyone? Now that Robert Blake has been aquitted, I hear the studio might actually put it out on DVD.... _______________________________

* I saw Lost Highway on DVD. * Ramstein was overplayed in that movie. ...just a few thoughts now that I'm in my David Lynch post-rennaisance.

* Maybe a Pan/Scan which is OOP, but no dice on a legit 16x9 W.screen in America... Netflix has the cheesy all-region canadian transfer, and the telecine trfr SUCKS ASS :( For More Details Here are 2 very good Lynch Sites: 1. Dugpa 2. Lynchnet A legit American release would be much appreciated Whats a post renassiance BTW? _______________________________

Pam, I miss you, too!

Will you still be in Boston between 27 July - 8 August? If I promise to be a better friend will you call off the move? :-) xxx

You crack me up! I'll probably still be here then, unless I'm housesitting for my sister that week...but I'm thinking I'll be here. Still moving, though. Smile more and more about it every day.

Well, I am happy for you, really. Just selfishly sad for myself. Are you counting the days yet? On the plus side, Ed really wants to visit a part of America where, as he puts it, "people drive cars with gun racks and will say things to me like, 'you ain't from around here, are ya, boy?'" He thinks New England is too much like England, and refuses to accept that I'm not sure where people like that live, or even if they actually exist. I could drop him off at some remote gas station in Alabama, and drive up to hang out with you while he's hunting for the real American experience...

I must've seen the Canadian 4:3. Since I was viewing on a 12" T.V. from 1989, I guess it didn't matter much. You film buffs are out of hand. Does it make more sense if I call it my post David Lynch Renaissance?

We all are.

Rich, my dear, anyone I genuinely like is inherently grumpy ass. That includes you.

damn canucks... Im sure if Picasso made a rectangle painting he'd be ecstatic if someone other than him lopped off the far left and right sides of the painting.... _______________________________

Not Canucks, pal- Queebs. For whatever it's worth, I feel like maybe it's time to give Twin Peaks another chance (but I'm not willing to watch the movies again yet.)

Make sure it's not in Canadian 4:3, otherwise you'll be watching "Lonely Valley".
