I'm looking forward to one day being able to vote for Charlie. I actually have a wee crush on the man. He's sooo lovely... And if you vote for Kilroy I'll never forgive you. Really.

im lib dem through and through, just wanted to see if any septics knew about our election - i even did an online quiz and it said i was lib dem - must be true then... my vote will be yellow on may 5th (despite the fact he is a ginger...)

Trying to decipher cockney slang: Ginger. Hmmmm.... Ginger Baker was the drummer of Cream Baker rhymes with 'Quaker' He's a Quaker! Right?

Sadly, the Brits poke fun at red-heads. I think it's anti-Celtic prejudice. So ginger (pronounced with the G sounding like "guh" rather than "gee", so the word rhymes with ringer) is a derogatory term for a red-head. But I like your explanation better.

I have to say, the only reasons I - a septic - know about your election are: 1. Dorset-born & bred partner 2. BBC1 & BBC2 on Dutch telly 3. Teenaged fixation on Billy Bragg, leading to the usual social tics

Did this go down yet? I'm changing my vote from "get baked" to "chat show charlie".

Maybe he'd be so soaked he'd forget to screw your country

Nice one. Blair will be re-elected for the same reasons Bush was. Most voters feel economically "flush", so, no need to change horses.

I think that was my sister's reasoning. We had a serious disagreement about that.

Disagreement about Bush's victory or Blair's (impending) victory? Then again, the Iraq War is starting to blow up in the U.K. right now, so, my analysis might not prove correct.

Of course not. :-) I am, though, fairly pleased with the Lib Dems' showing. And I think it's interesting that the US isn't the only country whose people are calling for electoral reform.

Love it. US reformers want the UK system, UK reformers want the US system. That really leaves me with one thing to say: "UK out of America!"
