Making Star Wars Tuesdays

Whoever is going to Star Wars tonite... could somebody pick up an extra ticket for me ahead of time. Ed seems to think that you can buy senior citizen tickets (i.e. cheaper ones) over the net?

Which show is this, and is it digital?

Posted by Rory_Stark on 2005-05-23 17:08:32 +0000
The showing is at 10:45. I am pretty sure it won't sell out and you can get senoir shit at the machines in the lobby. I consider it payment for making me watch all those fucking commercials before the show.

Posted by tgl on 2005-05-23 17:17:05 +0000
Loews Boston Common has a digital showing at 10:30pm. AMC Fenway's showing at 10:45pm is... ?

Posted by tgl on 2005-05-23 17:18:14 +0000
Must... resist... Don Cheadle.

Posted by frame609 on 2005-05-23 17:28:27 +0000
I'm so confused. What time and theater are we talking about?

Posted by tgl on 2005-05-23 17:34:05 +0000
10:45pm @ AMC Fenway is my guess. I'm assuming it's in digital, can't be certain without using that loathsome device: the telephone. Get on the web AMC!

Posted by rladew on 2005-05-23 17:38:32 +0000
fenway isnt in digital!!!! only Loews on Boston Common..... _______________________________

Posted by Honar the librarian on 2005-05-23 18:01:39 +0000
Can we go see the digital projection at 10:30 at Boston Common? Please, pretty please? Plus, I hate Fenway AMC.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-05-23 18:02:14 +0000
The only 2 digital screens in Massachusetts are theater #18 here at the Leows Boston Common, and Theater #1 in Randolph...

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-05-23 18:03:45 +0000
10:30 would be good...

Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-05-23 18:40:40 +0000
Folks: don't be difficult... We'd agreed to see it at the Fenway theater tonite, not the Boston Common. Besides, the only people who can diferentiate between analog and digital projections are the same dorks who can differentiate between tape and protools.

Posted by tgl on 2005-05-23 18:41:28 +0000
Consider my vote for: 10:30pm @ Loews Boston Common Enjoy the show!!

Posted by tgl on 2005-05-23 18:52:29 +0000
I'm game for either, I guess. I'll rescind my vote. AFAIK, it was agreed that Monday was making Star Wars Tuesday. But, that was the extent of it.

Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-05-23 18:58:30 +0000
Well... if you guys are going to see a 10:30 screening at Boston Common, I can guarantee Ed, myself and anybody else from C4RT won't make it. 10:45 at Fenway is much much easier for us as rehearsal ends at 10:30 and our space is right there. So if you want to leave us in the lurch and see it elsewhere be my guest, but feel our wrath later.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-05-23 19:12:24 +0000
It is a 10 mintue greenline train ride from Fenway to Boston Common to see it on the digital projector...

Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-05-23 19:16:07 +0000
Could somebody please just call my cell phone and tell me what show and theatre you're seeing this stupid movie once you've decided on something, before you buy tickets. C4RT is a priority over Star Wars as we've got a lot of shows coming up and not a lot of rehearsal time. A 10:30 show + commute to Boston Common might be cutting into our rehearsal time, so I need to run it by the group. Thanks.

I can't believe we're quibbling over time, pfthpt!

Posted by frame609 on 2005-05-23 19:37:27 +0000
Seriously. We should all travel to a time that works. Having said that, not sure if I'll make it to the movie- I'll pro'lly be around after, though.

Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-05-23 19:41:45 +0000
Ed (who hasn't been reviewing these posts as he's been away from a computer) just called me to say he bought me a ticket for 10:45 at Fenway so don't get either of us tickets... Please make your plans how you guys deem appropriate.

Friendly Fenway! I'll be the one with an umbrella.

Posted by Frederick the Younger on 2005-05-23 20:23:25 +0000
Maybe I will be there... maybe I will!

Posted by Honar the librarian on 2005-05-23 20:23:59 +0000
D'oh--well, have fun at the movies. I'll just catch it some other time. And yes, I hate fenway that much.

Will Freddy reveal herself tonight? Film at Eleven...

FtY == HtL

Could it be? Shocking.

Posted by Rory_Stark on 2005-05-23 22:15:46 +0000
OK, so I am at New Alliance now. I have already bought tickets at Fenway for 10:45. I assumed that's where we would see it. I seem to remember some disscusion outside the board to this extent. Either way, I've bought the tickets and that is where I am going. It would be nice to see you all there. If you want to meet us early at New Alliance for some pre screening activities call BQ. Say 10ish or a little later. Thanks

Has our question been answered? Who is FtY? Inquiring minds want to know.

Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-05-24 16:08:09 +0000
Ed dropped a huge hint saying that he had to call Frederick last night. Maybe that helps.

Posted by tgl on 2005-05-24 17:05:00 +0000
Now you're being coy, FtY.

Posted by Rory_Stark on 2005-05-24 18:20:52 +0000
Brendan, I was wondering if you could keep a secret. You can't. That's why I lied to you.

Oh yeah. The movie was fun. The Anakin-Padme scenes were cringingly bad.

Posted by rladew on 2005-05-24 20:28:53 +0000
did BQ end up getting his way in the Boston Common vs. Fenway 'Tiff'? _______________________________

Posted by rladew on 2005-05-24 20:31:47 +0000
lets just post all comments from now on under the "Making Star Wars Tuesdays" thread.. its more fun that way... TGL: Is there a way to search all threads to see which one has had the most posts? I already know how to find the ones with the least: do a word search for Zorn , Ayler, rladew, etc... _______________________________

The dialogue is bad. Can we stop blaming Natalie and Hayden? Please, for the love of the Force, you don't go to Star Wars for the romance. (Even though there was a bedroom scene in Ep. III. Did anyone else notice how un-Lucas, yet passable that sceen was?)

Posted by tgl on 2005-05-24 20:45:01 +0000
No, this strange.

I'm not blaming the actors. I blame the script. Stoppard could only do so much...

OK, haven't seen it yet, but, I need to protest. I've just completed watching Episodes IV - VI with the Ladyfriend. (who, it shall be noted, just bought them for me) We will soon rewatch Episodes I and II, and finally go see Sith. Comments: 1) The DVDs have the new footage Lucas added in 1997. This is OK, for _added_ scenes, but shitty, in the case of the end of Jedi, in which is has been _replaced_, not augmented. Additional materials, do not include the original ending, as far as I can tell. II) (and my original objection) The love story between Leia and Han is one of the greatest ever told, and is done so without really bothering to show any of it to the viewer. More films should do this, we are smart enough to infer the rest of the tale. The love story in Clones, on the other hand, is one of the worst I've ever seen. I hate Lucas.

Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-05-24 22:02:00 +0000
Fuck off... it wasn't until somebody mentioned that there were only a few places that had digital projections that the plans got fucked.

Posted by rladew on 2005-05-24 22:06:44 +0000
you had already seen it and DB and I had been talking digital for MONTHS..... _______________________________

Mocha Love and I commiserated last night that the romantic scenes in SW Ep. IV were better. Although, the Leia-Hans romance was just that: the romance, albeit a sort of opposite attract, "Ooooo, that man!" type of romance.
