Lisa Marie Presley in the solarium with the platinum edition of "Thriller".

Best post of 6/13/05. So far, anyway.

I'm going to watch CNN...

Maybe this post should be under "Lube and Fecal Matter"... _______________________________

Jesus Christ. Not guilty on all counts.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-06-13 21:24:16 +0000
Whew. Now we can just concentrate on the man's musical gifts. Praise the gods!

Posted by tgl on 2005-06-13 21:25:47 +0000
What does santorum have to do with it?

Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-06-13 21:26:00 +0000
Well, that just goes to show, if you want to get away with a crime, better commit it in California.

Posted by tgl on 2005-06-13 21:30:14 +0000
I think the "being rich" part might be more prudent. California didn't do the trick for Scott Peterson, did it?

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-06-13 21:33:53 +0000
Hold on a second: Does anyone (BQ,tgl) believe he actually commited a crime?

Posted by tgl on 2005-06-13 21:34:35 +0000
Did Jackson actually write the songs on "Off the Wall" and "Thriller"? I proclaim him guilty of knowing Quincy Jones.

Posted by rladew on 2005-06-13 21:35:31 +0000
and hire Robert Shapiro and have Rev. Jesse Jackson hang out with you. OJ redux. _______________________________

I think he's guilty of not having a clue. When you go on national television (albeit British national television) as a 40(?) year old man and declare it's perfectly all right to share a bed with 12 year old boys... don't be surprised that people will come asking for your money and your freedom. Especially if you aren't a senator from Ancient Greece.

Black celebrities get all the luck, don't they?

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-06-13 21:43:37 +0000
Wow, and here I was taking the "neo-con/drudgereport/anti-courts" stance on this one, and Bam -- everyone goes hard on me... ...though rladew did include a awkward Jesse Jackson comment.

Posted by tgl on 2005-06-13 21:48:28 +0000
Aren't all Jesse Jackson comments awkward? ...that's right I'm on my third iced coffee.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-06-13 21:48:34 +0000
There is also speculation that Ted Templeton wrote much of Thiller...

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-06-13 21:49:36 +0000
So that's a "no," right?

Posted by tgl on 2005-06-13 21:52:05 +0000
I have no idea if he's guilty or not. I wasn't in the courtroom, I haven't followed the news on this one. He's creepy, that's for sure.

MJ's talents (at least through the 70's and early 80's - culminating in Thriller) might be as much to knowing who to collaborate with , seeing all of his connections to the Motown world, and Quincy Jones. MJ is definitely a talent... But Im not ready to give someone a free pass just because theyre talented _______________________________

Maybe Michael would have molested the dead fetus Senator Santorum brought home for his children to play with? Ba-da-Boom!

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-06-13 21:58:39 +0000
free pass of what?

Posted by tgl on 2005-06-13 22:00:47 +0000
OK, now I feel like we've crossed _something_.

Posted by rladew on 2005-06-13 22:01:03 +0000
I Love You Dawn. :) I think Ill stop on my way home and buy some Jesus Juice. I'll stop making fun of Jesse from now on. there are too many other targets in this world... _______________________________

a free pass of molesting boys... have you been asleep? _______________________________

Posted by tgl on 2005-06-13 22:07:12 +0000
Does that indicate that you would give someone a free pass to molest small boys? ;) I'm staunchly in the anti-molest-small-boys camp, for whatever reason. Even national security.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-06-13 22:16:24 +0000
I get it. You think he did it.

We were talking about international relations, Chippy, Travis, D and I, and all of that stopped with talk of MJ... ________________ The Boot Knife of Mild Reason

No, actually I think I dont know. I WOULD side w/ what TGL said about him being someone I wouldn't want my kids to hang around. What put a real bad taste in my mouth was the circus atmosphere of JJ (shit I broke my own promise of not mentioning him anymore) and Robert Shapiro. Any hopes, for me at least, of MJ being innocent are marred by the fact he had to get help from those folks mentioned above. I certainly dont think someone can be convicted of being weird, but at the same time, the high profiles of everyone else besides MJ make it harder to consider objectively whether he is innocent or guilty. In my opinion, hanging out w/ the likes of JJ and Shapiro create a perception of having something to hide. _______________________________

But going on an international TV show with a child you supposedly molested, shows you have nothing to hide. The mother of this kid was shit. You read drudge; it was like her eighth lawsuit against a millionaire. I also respect the fact he took this one to trial, instead of just putting up the hush money. He wentfor it and won.

Man, did I ever miss a whopper of a thread today. I agree with dawn's psych eval: he never progressed beyond the age of ten in his head.

The NY Post and Daily News go with the same headline:

Well, One thing I was thinking last night was that MJ's economics might be a better judge of how he will fare in the US (or wherever he decides to live if his creditors repo Neverland) This morning NPR was saying he is over 270 mil in debt to various creditors to maintain his lifestyle and to pay for Neverland. My prediction is that Jack-o will try to appear on a lot of awards shows, Lettermen, Oprah, Dr. Phil etc. to clear his name and then go out on the biggest tour he can. I dont think the attendence will be stellar, so maybe the United States will vote on Jacko with its dollars (or lack thereof)... Either that or every beer, car, cosmetic, and junk food commercial we are exposed to will be with Lennon/Mccartney music. Heres to hopin' that Paul gets better lawyers... (Maybe Robert Shapiro's free now??) _______________________________
