Replay

The replay would be nice, however, I don't think baseball has such a burning need for it as football did. When the schedule is 162 games, a successful year doesn't hinge on a blown call like it might in football. That being said, there is no reason _not_ to do it, either. Replays during Game 7 of the World Series, only.

Fortunately for baseball, football tried it first, and look what happened.
Calls are a part of the game, and it is game.

Hear, hear! Bad calls are part of the game. We have officials to keep us from arguing over the rules and the calls, we have TV so that the folks at home can continue to argue, but the people on the field can continue with the game.

Hmmm, compelling.
It is just a game. Not like it's a sport or anything.

Football needs gay shit like instant replay... it's so thick with rules and technicalities. The _point_ of football is to fickle around with rules. Baseball on the other hands, in the words of Crash Davis, "is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains."

There's a lot of truth to this. Football rules change every year, and you cannot even get an accurate description of them from the NFL. ("Not meant to be a substitute for the official rule book," What are they affraid of?)
I remember the Trivial Pursuit question from the original edition: What sport has the largest rule book? Football. Football is constantly changing and morphing and adding rules. The whole league is somewhat of an experiment, and they are tinkering with the replay. I personally think it is a little gay, especially the free time out it currently affords.

I'll say it again: NFL runs itself like a communist state. MLB is the personafication of American capitalism (laissez faire but dependent on government largesse bolster profits artificially).
