On the Outs
So, today I had my first phone interview for the only job in Nashville to which I've applied. Went well, and I think they'll hire me. Going down there on July 18 to meet the rest of the people who I'd work with at the JCC. Now I just have to find an apartment, another 1/2 time job, and health insurance.

Jewish Children's Center
Heh heh heh.
Ahem.
Sorry.
Jewish Community Center. Unless I am very much mistaken.
Until then, bring on the dancing bears.
Much love,

Seriously, thanks. I really want this job, for the flexibility, the fun, and the connections I'll be able to easily make in the community there. The only down side is the complete lack of benefits, unless you count a free membership to the JCC. I do like to swim, so it might be worth it.
You've been a UNION ORGANISER???
Miriam, that is so cool. I'm serious, that is SO cool.
And I'm sure that you will be equally cool (if not more so) as a 1/2 time city coordinator of youth programs, even though I don't know any songs about it.

I've done some amazing work here: helped negotiate a contract with Harvard (work security portion of the contract), helped find people jobs who are getting laid off, helped folks who are having disagreements with their supervisors resolve them, and saved a job or two here and there.
Because I tend to take in emotions of those around me, it's been a struggle to maintain composure when I'm not at work. I love this, but it sucks the life out of me most of the time.
Damn, girl, you have a really cool work history... I'm jealous.
Wanna be my boss?
