yet another excursion proposal

Who's up for a midnight moonlight equinoctial Presidential bushwhack? Saturday night, September 17th, weather conditions permitting. Leave Boston c.4PM. Arrive Pinkham Notch c.7PM. Ascend Mt. Washington the hard way, via the trailless ravine of Raymond's Cataract. Reach summit c.3AM. Return to Pinkham via Tuckerman Ravine, arriving at cars c.6AM. Back in Boston c.9AM Sunday. You know you want to. The moon will be full.

I hate weddings... should I blow one off?

Sweet--I've never summitted Mt. Washington. Also, will need to prepare for Wind River Range. It's never too early to start.

I'll totally Kenobi the summit. And I betcha the folks would have some coffee for us.

Who's driving those cars at 6am?

Posted by pchippy on 2005-07-18 14:57:34 +0000
I will be happy to drive. Unless someone else prefers to.

Um, I think I can't.

Posted by frame609 on 2005-07-20 07:52:58 +0000
What, you didn't have a good time driving on the 3th?

Posted by Miriam on 2005-07-20 15:21:31 +0000
Actually, that was a blast. I'm thinking more that I'll be in Nashville and my car won't make it back up North.

Hmmm. Someone who shall remain nameless has suggested that while the excursion sounds appealing, it would be still more appealing if it were simply an old-fashioned moonlight hike on a trail, not a bushwhack. What, if anything, do others of you think about that? Myself, I'm up for the full-scale twig-in-the-eye adventure. But I'm willing to listen to reason.

Of course not. That would be a discourtesy. You should invite the bride and groom to come along. If they decide not to, that's their problem.
