The public execution of Karl Rove

First I agree with the Moose that moderates and the left can't get too hopeful for a Rove downfall, but still it adds to the disaster that is the GW Bush administartion. OK, so now Rove claims Novak told him that Plame was an undercover operative. And Rove told Cooper. Still treason, punishable by execution, but just weird. So who told Novak? Why isn't Novak in jail?

I'll get you, my pretty, ...and your little dog, Scooter, too! Ah Ah Ha Hah!

Plame wasn't undercover when Novak's piece was published. Novak leaked to Rove... that's priceless. I'd guess that technically, Rove and Libby might not have committed a felony. However, if they were not the source, they at least knowingly confirmed information they each knew was sensitive (Why the "super double secret background"? Just an Animal House fagen?). Revealing Plame's identity might not have been damaging to national security when all is said and done, but how did either of them know that? Loose lips sinks ships. Appalling judgement. Especially when you consider it was done for purely political reasons: to discredit Wilson (his wife made hime do it!) and discredit his report. I wouldn't hang 'em; tar and feather, maybe.

Treasury Sec. John Snow and Terror Czar Richard Clarke were run out of town, or at least demonized for "leaks". Seems like Bush is going soft as his Presidency approaches terminal lame-duck-itude.

The village voice breaks down Hard Karl's life Not flattering. Poor Rove getting picked on... the irony is thicker than the pastrami on rye I had for lunch.... (burp)

Nothing I didn't know from The Atlantic. Except his mother committing suicide, a couple years after his divorce. Yikes. --- It's entirely possible Rove did not break any laws with regards to Rovegate. He acted indiscriminantly, sure. It'd be poetic... IRONIC? if he fell from grace because of a "whisper" campaign.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-07-20 19:13:55 +0000
I don't really care anymore if Rove commited a crime with the leak. Bush said "anyone caught leaking, would not be working in this administration." Well, Rove did that according to Rove and Matt Cooper, and that sucks. Bush is so gay....

There's been definite backpedaling on what transgresssion would warrant a dismissal. This from the candidate that wanted to being honor and integrity back to the White House in 2000. --- Although, integrity was pretty much shown the door by Sept. 17, 2001. (That's the day the invasion of Iraq was approved, right? Too bad no one seemed to do any planning since.)

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-07-20 21:21:04 +0000
No, Sept. 17th was the approval of military force in Afghanistan...

Posted by tgl on 2005-07-20 21:29:03 +0000
Right, Sept. 17th. They knew they couldn't get support for Iraq just yet, so they went with Plan B.

The lies are starting to rear their heads. Is there a word for particularly delicious schadenfraude? I knew the administratioin has been lying since 2003, it's nice to see that the media is starting to take notice.

Mr. Novak has apologized to CNN, and CNN apologizes to its viewers for his language and actions. We've asked Mr. Novak to take some time off'...." What's got you so crazed, Bobby ? Could it be that you're going to have to testify against your beloved Karl Rove???

Posted by tgl on 2005-08-05 00:02:54 +0000
That's low. Carville called him a poooo-say, on the air. Novak couldn't handle it.

Reason 1,987,042 not to read the Wall Street Journal (From Joshua Marshall: This reason. Seriously does that op-ed even makes sense? "Mr Carville is lucky he didn't get punched in the nose..." Who are these people? So very sad to see the WSJ journal venture further to the hard right, especially when comment on themselves...

here's a thought: maybe both sides could admit they behaved poorly and move on... Awesome clip. Carville wasn't even trying that hard.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-08-08 19:36:55 +0000
Why would Carville admit to something he didn't do? Just to make peace?

Looks like it was Scooter! Libby told Novak who told Rove. The hits keep on coming. Now about that impeachment...

Posted by tgl on 2005-09-30 18:37:37 +0000
Why would Scooter give Murphy the "A OK" if it might be incriminating to himself or others in the administration?

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-10-02 21:10:48 +0000
Did Bush himself do the deed? Impeachment is one thing, but can the President be executed?

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2005-10-25 17:14:30 +0000
And Libby heard from Cheney! It does seem like Cheney and his right hand man, Libby, are now at odds. Does this go all the way To Bush? Speculation is we'll find out Friday. And just remember for all those who want to play the "political motivation" card for Fitzgeradls actions: When Ken Starr came up with a sexual relations charge in a real estate investigation against a Democrat President, he was a hard line Republican. This is Fitzgerald, a hard line Republican (the party he's giving tens of thousands of dollars), investigating a Republican President. It's like Richard Clarke, Colonel Wilkerson, etc... You can't say they are politically motivated.
