Twinkies

Do we play the Twins every year for the trade deadline? Will we have another guy stroll from one locker room to the other before the weekend's over? Did J.C. Romero suck in his audition for his potential suitors? Will Billy Ballgame survive the weekend as a Red Sox? (please)

I'll go into a period of mourning if they trade Mueller.

I'm fairly confident he's staying put. I worry more about Bronson and minor league prospects Ramirez and Sanchez...

They're not moving Hanley, they like him more than I like my dick. Theo et al, aren't going to move important prospects. They'd rather veterans toward the end of their contracts that they inherited from the prior management. Theo wants to build a machine that is consistantly generating several players from within that have acceleration plans to have positions open when they're ready... (which is why the Renteria signing made no sense) That means being ready to part with your guys when their contracts are up. Look at what Beane did to the A's, he completely dismantled a championship team, and they're looking like a pretty darned good group of nobodies... Given enough time, he'll do it again.

Isn't Anibal Sanchez ready to be shipped? I see his name thrown out a lot...

Sanchez is trade-bait... you have to have those guys in your system, too... He's probably not in the top 5 Sox pitching prospects (Papelbon, Lester, Merideth, Hanson? Delcarmen (does he count, he's up)...) he's good, a strikeout machine, apparently, but not destined to be a starter (which means we may need him more than we think) probably an upper level middle reliever. I think Theo considers him to be expendable.

Haven't heard about/from Zink in a while. Anyway, I think that if this alleged three-team deal goes down, maybe we'll see Damon moved to left, with Cameron playing center- he's easily one of the five best defensive outfielders in baseball, and having less distance to throw will help Damon.

Here here. Damon is perfect for pos. #7 at Fenway. I've been saying this for over a year now. Gonna be an interesting 24 hours...
