Who has got the 4 and a half?

The Red Sox do. The Socks play the Royals, what, 24 more times before the end of the season? I like it. Unfortunately, the Red Sox are 4 games under .500 against teams in the A.L. East. Hopefully they won't have to meet any if the make the playoffs.

Everyone makes a big deal about The Sox being the only division leader with a losing record in their division. (OK, not _everyone_, but I listen to a lot of daytime WEEI, so my sampleset is fucked up) At least they don't have a losing record overall... Hello NL West? At least we can solidly say that a wildcard team is not coming from there.

I've always wondered if the White Sox are really that good, or their schedule is really that weak. The Sox split the last series, correct?

Sox Split: Indeed. The White Sox are very good _and_ they have a weak schedule, they would probably lead just about any division the way they are playing, just not by as much... Check out their Relative Power Index. Also note how bad their division ranks (at the bottom of the page. Also note that the Predictive scale has Anaheim and Boston as the two best teams in the league this year... I can not vouch for the credibility of this webpage's system.

The White Sox are doing as well as they are because of Garland's emergence, I'll say. Buehrle is having a phenomenal year, too.

please dont stop weighing in just because its a baseball thread. Any and all responses to the "your number here" and a half question are always welcome... If I had to guess, I would estimate that Pam has got at least an 8 and a half yours Rich " 1 and a half" _______________________________

Thanks, Rich. You're a gem. * This brings back one giggly afternoon in high school choir practice when the Ladies and I (contraltos one and all) were discussing a Cosmo article which stated that length is usually the same as the distance between tip of the middle finger and base of the wrist. * I've never bothered to check on real boys when presented with the opportunity. Too busy shouting, "Woo hoo! Naked!" and running around in circles.
