I don't see that. Reagan was often asking for "God Bless America", hwoever, Reagan was not beholden to the christian fundamentalists the way Bush is. Reagan (after some cajoling) raised taxes. I think when Reagan died, the love-fest was a bit overblown. Whatever his shortcomings, Reagan did lead the US out of the "national dispair" that was the late '70s. That's not something I see Bush being capable of.
