T minus 12 hours or so and counting

So, BeckyBunny and her redheaded fella just picked up my dresser, which will start it's journey to Maine soon. Looks like my desk will head to Nashville tomorrow with 50+ boxes of books, clothes, papers, kitchen stuff, paintings, and a lot of other crap I've crammed into my two-room apartment for the last 5 years. Looks like I'll be getting rid of a chair and bookcase tomorrow. This afternoon I sold off a mosaic I did in college for $100! Couldn't believe it. Actually, it was in the one TGL gave me back a month or two ago. Who knew?!

Yeah...the same woman bought that, and a painting on paper I got back last week from that coworker I dated. For some reason he didn't want to keep it and another painting, and she bought it for $50! Totally helping to pay the gas and hotel bills on the drive down Thursday.

If anyone wants a bench (fabric-covered) and an old, rickety, wooden chair...or dishes, or vases, or any of the other crap in the middle of my kitchen, just say the word, or come by my place tomorrow.

Art Pays.

There's an old man in Knoxville (who also happens to be a Holocaust survivor) named Art Pace. When I was 9 or 10 he bought be a chocolate bar in the gourmet shop near my mom's stationery store...then came back to her store with me to tell her I'd accepted candy from strangers. Honestly, it took some convincing, but since I knew it couldn't've been laced with anything, I didn't see the harm. That, and everyone in the gourmet shop knew me and would've saved me if he'd tried to kidnap or molest me. Ah...innocence.
