Mother Truckers!

My sister just called to tell me that my moving company called to tell her that my stuff's not leaving Boston until 8/26. Good thing I kept enough clothes to wear to work starting 8/22. This sucks. Besides that, my bed is getting picked up today at 4:30pm. I think that means I'm sleeping in my closet. I want to curl up in a ball and cry. Wah! Wah!

Don't they have to compensate you? I mean, when did they agree to deliver your stuff? xxx (oh and by the way - you looked super-kittenish and hot on Thursday night)

Apparently, it was some kind of miscommunication. No compensation. Didn't ask, actually; maybe I should. There's a possibility of getting it before it's scheduled to leave on the 26th, but basically, this sucks. On the plus side, I'll have the utilities turned on, and some in-Nashville-already furniture set-up before my books and stuff get there. It'll be nice to have bookcases to put books on before the boxes arrive. I've spent the last 4 hours calling to change my address with a variety of companies and scheduling pick-ups for stuff: bed, bedframe, bookcase and chair, step stool, washer and dryer. My ear hurts; luckily I'm using a headset so my arm doesn't go numb. Just my brain. PS YOU looked fantastic on Thursday night. So glad I was in town to see you. Love you like crazy and as soon as I get settled in Nashville I'm going to start making plans to see you.

Hm. I would definitely ask about compensation. A few hundred dollars for some clothes and an air mattress, at least. Sounds like you've made a hell of a lot of preparations - that will make things go fairly smoothly. Girrrrrrrrrrrrrrl, you'd better get your cute ass over here. Next spring/summer would be perfect, I should be able to get some time off...

Probably summer...gotta get more $. As long as we don't see any WWII shit I'm down. All about fun Amsterdam, not depressing Amsterdam. :)

There will be the Belgian beer bar. And the cocktail bar run by a German woman who only employs very attractive young bald Black men. And bike-riding along the Amstel river. And a canal cruise after dark. And dancing at Winston's. And dinner at Pasta e Basta, where the waiters sing to you. And maybe a train journey to Belgium. And shopping. Oh yes, there will be shopping.

Ooh! That sounds rockin'! I also have some extended family there...my sis-in-law is from Amsterdam. One of her grandmas lives there, the other lives in Brussels. The one in Brussels is very cool, the one in Amsterdam is cold. :)

Amsterdam is to Brussels what New York City is to Atlanta. IMHO. Makes sense re: yr grannies-in-law. I'm off to bed, laters, gators! xxx

The more I think about it, the more I'm getting effed. I specifically remember booking my stuff on today's truck, which is why it was all picked up on Monday. Makes my jaw clench more and more as I go over the stupidity of this situation.
