Billy Weld

I like Weld, and while this maybe because I met him, he seems like a John McCain-Bill Maher-Susan Collins (my fav)-"Social Liberal-fiscal Conservative" breed of Republican.

His switch from pro to anti gay marriage, seems entirely political. (I bet he's about as anti gay marriage as Bush is Christian). It is a party talking point, so I can't be too disappointed or surprise he went this way. The only thing really offensive about him is that he is notoriously lazy.

Though Weld's run <a href="http://www.rasmussenreports.com/2005/New%20York%20Governor.htm">looks grim.</a>

this is really good news! Although, at least mutual fund industry- and music industry wise (check out the Sony / radio payola <a href="http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/news/05-07/26.shtml">shenanigans BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN A BIT TO SEE THE LINK</a> he got involved in fighting), Eliot Spitzer has done some interesting things too.
