Saturday Night Fenway
After a brilliant walk along the Chuck with m'lady from Shay's (burger and beers) in Harvard Sq. to Fenway, we arrived at Copperfield's. (Did they clean that place up or what?) Then I purchased peanuts, brown bag, salted. Then I purchased a Sausage Connection sausage with special sauce, no dust. "Seven dollars."
"Seven?" I asked. "Not six?"
"Seven, always been seven," he said.
"No, it was six in July."
Pause.
"Prices went up from earlier in the year," he retorted. Then he said, "Here," and he gave me a dollar back.
Two notes:
1) Is there such a thing as "Saturday pricing"? When I go to the game on Tuesday will it be back to $6?
2) I understand the price gouging at events like ballgames, but to charge $1.25 MORE than inside Fenway, I draw the line. Yes, it's better sausage but please, don't charge more than inside...
I then picked up the Matt Clement signed photo for $20, all of which went to the Red Cross Katrina relief. (Should I have gotten the Varitek signed pic, as he's actually won a Series? Speculation, speculation...) In between the 8th and 9th innings the annoucer at the game said they raised $32,000 for the Katrina relief fund.
Anyone interested in Standing Room tickets on Tuesday?
I'm going and have 3 up for grabs.... Angels game...?
