What's this?

I've had this pain on the inside of my right heel for a solid day and a half now. Not sure if I pinched a nerve or if I bruised it or slept on it wrong or whatever, but man, it hurts when I put pressure on it.

Can you identify if the pain is muscular or deeper than that? Does the pain tingle or shoot? My hairstylist woke up one morning with excruciating pain (could barely put weight on his foot), and a few days later (after he reckoned a normal sleeping-on-it-wrong pain would've gone away), he went to the doctor. He was diagnosed with a stress fracture from all the walking he does (several miles a day). Hm. Let me know if you feel the same way tomorrow...

...maybe important to say that his excruciating pain was across the top of his foot, not the ball.

It hurts less now than it did before, and I spent the evening icing it. Feels muscular. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I'm sorry, I don't mean to spook you. I think the location of the pain rules out a stress fracture (I've been reading webmd). The pain in the ball of your foot doesn't extend to the bottom of your foot (arch), does it?

It's all in the heel.

Good. So it probably isn't tendon-related. Which rules out pretty much anything but muscle strain or an obvious injury. Which, considering you haven't mentioned an injury, probably isn't the case. Whew!

A day of Advil and staying off my feet = hell yeah.

And possibly a foot massage from some kindly neighbor girl? I'm thinking of someone along the lines of her:

Come to think of it, I'm free ALL DAY.

Yeah, she'll probably wanna hang out, "listen to records"...

I am laughing my ass off right now. Shit!

Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-09-08 08:13:32 +0000
heh heh heh "No, really, I just wanted a foot massage. No, no - leave my pants on! Please, I have this terrible pain in my foot - agh! That would not be my foot..."

I'm not touching this one.

...she said, as she noted the RUSH album sitting by the turntable... OR... ...she exclaimed, noticing that his left pinky toe had a thick coat of yeti fur... OR...

Nope, nope.

Back in '01-'02 I had some serious pain in the heels of both feet, deep pain, stabbing, especially in the morning. I kept forgetting to get it checked out, but it went away after 2 years

Sounds like some kind of plantar fasciitis. My Mum had a very bad case, and the tendon on one side basically snapped. She was in a wheelchair for a few months, and now wears a foot brace every day. Will do for the rest of her life, unless she has surgery - which is reputed to be painful and only 60% effective. Get your feet checked out, and always wear good shoes with low heels (if any). xxx

Incidentally (I am such a dork), you & my Mum are both Pisceans. Pisces rules the feet: "Pisceans' feet and toes cause them the most anxiety. This is perhaps not surprising as, symbolically, it is the feet that keep this fanciful sign earthbound. They might find it therapeutic to 'feel the ground' beneath them by walking barefoot occasionally, or to use massage and reflexology to ease the strain."

Dood, I've had foot problems a lot. Last night I couldn't sleep until I got my hot water bottle settled on my freezing tootsies. They go nuts if I wear the same shoes two days in a row, too. I break out in painful hives. Ugh. Guess that's the price you pay for being creative, intelligent, and kind. ;)

Absolutely. x! (I love my fishy Mum so much - she's like a sarcastic Mother Teresa) But I'm a pain in the ass Leo, so... my karma gives me pains in my back. Yoga was made for selfish brats like me. ;-)
