brakes / pads / rotors : $116 2 front axles: $100 front struts and coil springs: $145 alignment: $49.95 total parts: $811.80 Parts + Labor($811.80) + ($410.95) = $1263.64 Not having to go to Jacksons Automobile service (tm) for the Altima anytime soon (hopefully) = Priceless.

Did you have rust? I had rust. I rusted out 4 rotors, and a left rear caliper. That, plus having the a/c charged was only $604...including labor.

I wasnt aware of rust. My (always) empty metal piggybank SHOULD have rust on it though :) _______________________________

It took me approx. 12 hours to replace the two rear struts (coil spring installation direction is important!) in my '95 Subaru. So, you might have done well. Need to get a photo of those old suckers posted. They are a laugh. (Also photos from Miriam's Karaoke Send Off, natch).

My brakes had rusted solid. Of course, I didn't know that was why it was so difficult to get the car to stop. Glad I got them checked. Also had new brake pads put on then.
