It's exactly the type of story Us Weekly would usually pounce on, only it happened to one of its staffers: Hot Stuff column editor Timothy McDarrah, 43, was arraigned in Manhattan federal court yesterday for allegedly trying to seduce an FBI agent posing as a 13-year-old girl on the internet. A magazine spokesman said yesterday he was suspended without pay. An FBI affidavit said that in June, McDarrah answered a listing on craigslist.com that offered liaisons with the "freshest, youngest" girls in New York. Police say McDarrah offered to pay $200 for sex with a 13-year-old girl. He was nabbed at a building that the FBI agent had given as the girl's address. McDarrah is charged with one count of using the internet to entice a minor into sex, which carries a minimum five-year sentence. He didn't enter a plea. McDarrah allegedly set up the meeting through his mother's America Online account.
I hear he likes to have fun with cell phones...
