Thought I had to get a new Bang & Olafsen cartridge for my record player today, but it turns out I just needed to balance the arm and get a phono adapter for my stereo.

Classic problem. If the receiver does not say "phono" and instead you plug the RCA cables into an "aux" or "tape" channel, the volume level will be way down. Been there, done that.

They don't make the cartridges I was looking for anymore, and the ones I could find online were somewhere between $250-$600. Luckily, no replacement was necessary.
Unfortunately, the arm isn't lifting up enough to clear the record when it's finished. There was some mighty nasty skidding going on.

Lara's dog is doing fine.
She's starting to chew odd bits of paper and cardboard she finds around the house, very endearing.
