R Sox Academia

Frame et. al: Just got back from 2 days in Chicago flanked w/ White Sox fans tying to one up themselves over their nemesis the Cleveland Indians (Indians? has anyone notified the ACLU about this? shocking...) and am very glad to be back to where I can get Red Sox poop a little more easily. I would like to purchase a book about the Soxers, but I'd like to use the experience of the board to avoid buying World Series celebratory fluff. I enjoyed the K. Burns baseball series immensely (especially George F Will - big surprise there - and Doris Kearns Goodwin). Any reccomendations? Love RL

'Red Sox Century' gives a lot of history and is a good place to start.

Never heard of these "Indians", do you mean the Cleveland Red Faces? I would think the ACLU would support your right to name your baseball team whatever the hell you wanted.

What about Shaugnessy's "Curse of the Bambino"?

"Curse Of The Bambino" and the stuff that comes out of my asshole bear a suspicious resemblence to each other.

The contents of yr bung are witty, well written, rosy smelling , and full of humorous anecdotes? We have got to start getting your SHIT sold at Barnes and Noble... (Not exactly the "geeting the Red Sox POOP" I had in mind, lol) ;) _______________________________
