Scorsese on Dylan

Watched the first part this evening. Damn good biopic. The man's a poet. I can't say I'm a Dylan fan... he's a genius, no doubt.

Guthrie-->Seeger-->Dylan-->Jandek

Part 1 TIVO'd and waiting for when Maddie goes to bed tonite 9if I get tired of watching the Sox - the stress gets too much for me sometimes)...

My (inexperienced opinion as I have hardly ever pursued the man's music up to this point) favorite Dylan tune is the 'Man in Me' - from the 'Big Lebowski' when the Dude is all spaced out and flying around...

PBS delivers every night at 9pm. Another two hours tonight, I guess they'll replay the last half hour from yesterday. It's been released simultaneously on DVD as well. Full Frontal 60s Assault.

Can't say I have a favorite Dylan song, or know any. For which I get ridiculed at home. Hey, did you all know he penned "Blowin' in the Wind?"

I think I have a copy of John Welsey Harding, which came out after the period this documentary addresses (mainly 61' - 66').

"Subterranean Homesick Blues" is the first rap song ever...

Here's an interesting take on Dylan. I think the author, Jesse Walker, used to be the host of "Grey Matters" on WCBN.
