Viva K

Saw Ravi Dhar's band, Viva K, last night at O'Brien's pub (still a pisshole). BQ is right they need a drummer; the G-4 beat box is a bit of a let down, although it does have a "Drum Machines Have No Soul" bumper sticker on it. Very Jane's Addiction with Ween's (that's the female singer's name) voice, and Ravi's Dave Navaro-ish jangily Gibson is more melodic than one would think. The sitar is almost a gimmic, but adds even more trance feel. They're still doing the CMJ tour (I think), but we'll see if they make it. They should totally play with C4[RT].

Haven't been to O'Brien's in a long time. Sounds like an interesting show. Now that Dave Navarro coaches people on how to get into INXS, its nice to see someone else has taken the reigns on the good ol days (aka Janes addiction) of when Dave was a guitar player instead of Mr. Carmen Electra. _______________________________
