I just got caught in the rain- hopefully the Sox (and Clement) will not do the same.

More lying. RIOT Baseball tells us the White Sox are in the playoffs whichever way you look at it.

Per ESPN: If the Red Sox and Indians both win two of three this weekend, there will be a double playoff, with Boston traveling to New York for the AL East tiebreaker and the loser playing the Indians for the wild card. !!

Will the Pale Hose tank it to ensure that only one team from the AL East will be in the playoffs this year?

Most dramatic: one game playoff, THEN another playoff, followed by sox vs. Yankees for the league, again. My poor heart.

I'm confused...there was no airing of yesterday's Red Sox game in Nashville...which totally pisses me off. Do they get the wildcard or what? Please explain to this baseball newbie.

Posted by rladew on 2005-10-03 16:19:27 +0000
they got the Wildcard (tm) when Cleveland's (the team the BOSOX were competing against to get the wildcard) Grady Sizemore grounded out in chicago. the Red Sox were in the fourth (is that right guys? inning when it happened, and Boston wound up winning the game 10-1. (Also correct me if im wrong here guys) MFY and BOSOX's records are now tied, but since MFY's head to head record w/ BOSOX has more total wins, they clinched the pennant after Sturday's MFY victory... _______________________________

Um, MFY? Mother F'in Yankees?

Thanks for the clarification. I'm not lost in the South anymore. :)

So: NYY over ANA (I hope I'm wrong about this one) BOS over CHW HOU over ATL, and STL over SD (not the blowout that all the talking heads are talking about- Peavy will make a series out of it.)
