CREEPY!!!!!!!!! / 'Lost' apreesh
After living on the island for over a month, our humble surviovors / narrators see a plume of black smoke emerging on the horizon of the coastline of the other side of the island.
They are informed by the only native they know on the island they have 3 choices when black smoke is seen:
1. Run
2. Hide
3. Die

Maybe if it was a small club or a place the size of the Orpheum or something, Weezer would have been the favorite. If one compares the first three Weezer albums to the first 3 FF albums: Hits per album (HPA - and this is very subjective and defined only by me) for the blue, 'pinkerton' and green albums is much higher than the s/t, 'the colour and the shape' and 'there is nothing left to lose' albums. (Im not considering later albums by either band partially because of my unfamiliarity, but also because the times I have heard them they havent done tons for me)
However, stage prescense, visuals, and enthusiasm would have to throw this show in favor of the Foos. Weezer were fun and they played a lot of the songs you'd hope they would play. But if that's the criteria of a show, having a band play the songs you hope they would play - and they dont really stand out much from the album versions unless you consider the "echo chamber" acoustics of an arena an improvement - then you should really just go to Wal Mart or Best Buy or whateverthe corporate music distribution center (tm) near you is and call it a day.
Dave Grohl really won me over with alternate arrangements , fucking with the crowd, big shameless "Rush / Pink Floyd-like" laser lights and plain energy and fun.
If yr not going to a club for a show and yr shelling out north of 20/25 USD, its nice to see that there are bands out there like the Foos that might not be huge monsters on the tour circuit like Radiohead, Rolling Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen et. al", but still explode with live talent and that make you feel like the extra $$$ spent was worth it in some fashion.
Just my .02
Anyone else addicted to "Lost" btw? probably just me...

Are they all dead and in some limbo state? Is it all a dream (cop out)? Is it a time travel thingy? Or is some magical/quasi-fantasy shit going on? I bet your answer is about as good as the head writer's.
It's very David Lynch / Twin Peaksish (duh no wonder I like it so much)
I dont think its a dream. (I hate that when its used as a literary storytelling device, too BTW) Must have something to do with Destiny vs. Science.
IMHO: It seems ro be an adventure story mixed in with spirtual and x-files style "fantastic unexplainable events" leanings.
A little badassness from Michelle Rodriguez
<img src="http://latenightgames.com/labynight/gallery/bunniko/removie_rain6_lg.jpg">,
smartass sarcasm / humor from James Holloway
<img src="http://lost.ozclick.net.au/cast-sawyer.jpg">,
and some good human natureness from Dominick Monahagn
<img src="http://www.chompete2.blogger.com.br/wr02.jpg">
(amongst many many other talented cast members from the likes of 'Party of 5" and "Oz")
and you've got a pretty damn good show.

impaled one of the "Others"...
this show just keeps getting better and better.
Its a blend of all the really good elements of the X-Files, Blair Witch, Survivor rolled into one.
Can't wait to see what happens next...

How's season 2 coming along, BH?
Judging by the second episode of Season 3, seems the show's writers / producers / director (aka powers that be in making LOST) must have some <a href="http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/2006/10/lost_in_the_shu.html">Boston</a> ties...
awesome.
Nice work.
Good Ol Locke.
I like yr 'global domination' theory btw...
I feel like Locke knows something that the show's creators haven't shared with us humble viewers yet...
-16 episodes per season-running back to back with no reruns
end date is targeted as 2010.
Sounds like a long time, but I am psyched that the studio is having the patience to run all new episodes concurrently instead of experimenting with new shows in its timeslot, reruns, and the dreaded "re-cap" filler episodes.
IMHO it seems like LOST's producers are going with an HBO type of strategy instead of a "Major Network" strategy. I hope this works.
They already have a cult following for the show and are sure to gain more with the new strategy.
Great ending to the episode, though.
I think the LOST haters have it all wrong. Best thing on TV since Twin Peaks or Sopranos.
