It's Raining Men
Okay, so I thought my social life, I went to Boston for the weekend, and all of a sudden it's like I can't keep them away!
On the plane from Atlanta, I met a guy, as I let him go in front of me walking onto the plane. We struck up a short conversation, and he ended up sitting in the row behind me. He gave me his card, and I listened to some of his conversation with the girl sitting next to him before deciding if I wanted to give him mine. After the plane landed I did, and he said he'd invite me to a closed recording session of amazing folks doing a set in-the-round (which is big around here...ask Beckybunny about the show we saw at the Bluebird Cafe). Today I was having lunch with my mom, who was in town to take her folks to the doc, and he called! He wants to hang out on Sunday after he gives an OSHA talk in East Boston. Could be cool. I will call him back tomorrow.
A while after I got back to work, my predecessor came up and told me that there was a cute guy in his mid-30s who just joined the JCC and she thought we'd be a good match. She told me to get one of my cards and come with her to meet him. We looked for him, but didn't see him. I gave her my cards (business and the cute pink personal one) for the next time she sees him. He's a songwriter who is in town for a while every few weeks, renting a house here, and thinking of moving here for good. Oh, and he's from Boston.
Around 5:30, my sister came to pick up her kids from Aftercare, and stopped in to say hello. She also wanted to tell me about a nice Jewish boy named Keith who's in her Social Work school or something, and his band is playing on Thursday night around 10:45 and would I like to go and meet him? Of course, I said, "yes." Turns out he's 25, and not sure if he wants to be a social worker or a musician. He doesn't like to be set up, but would like me to come to the show. I'm cool with that. Being set up is a lot of pressure, but I'm cool with it as long as I don't have people I know watching.
Can't believe all that happened in less than 24 hours! Too funny. Who knows, maybe I'll meet the man of my dreams, or realize a few more things I don't want in a boyfriend besides sweater-vests and more jewelry than me.
