Gettin' out there

So, last night I was wasting time after work and avoiding going home by cruising jdate...my archnemisis. I saw this guy who seemed my type, if a few years younger, and emailed him at the address he snuck into his profile. He wrote me back, and I really hope I didn't respond with something too long or stupid. Whatever. He's a dj, kind of religious, and lives in California. I'll keep you posted.

I know exactly what you mean about the "too long and stupid" concern. I never know the line between "I am witty & intriguing" and "I am 12 years old and my favorite magazine is Tiger Beat".

Honestly, I just ate a brownie and my blood sugar is too high to be allowed to write to a cute man online.

Yes, you are my spiritual twin.

But that's always when it's the most tempting, dammit!

I don't hold back. I always push "enter."

Okay, so I sent a ridiculously long email to the dude yesterday, and he sends me back: "word. I teach Talit at the Federation in irvine. it's amazing. E" Whoa. I think I totally lost him. Also, I have NO idea what it means to teach Talit. Does that mean he teaches people how to make them? How to pray with them? What they mean? Good grief; that's so obtuse!

Maybe he's trying to catch you out. Maybe he thinks you're faux, and will respond with a perky, "Wow, I love Talit! Cool! Talit is very deep!"

Okay, I did a little research before writing him back...and with enough distance between me and some sugar...and found out that T.A.L.I.T. is an amazing leadership program for teens in Orange County, CA. Basically, it's a souped up version of what I'm doing. Very cool.

Ooooooo... now *this* is getting juicy!

Check out his tunes; what do y'all think? I haven't listened to house much since '98, but I'm willing to be open-minded. Besides, he thinks we would be a good match...according to JDate ettiquette.

Tried to listen, but my computer seized up. Funny, it usually likes house music...

I think his track takes about an hour to get through...maybe more. I stepped away from my desk several times and it was still playing. Don't think I could sit through it again without a strobe light in the corner, a beer in my hand, and a guy trying to make out with me.

Something tells me he could supply all three... :-)

Awww, yeah!

I'm down with couch time. Oh, yeah!

Can't talk extensively about this now...as I'm heading into a meeting, but I met one of this dude's best friend's at a conference in DC last week! Too funny. The Jewish world is an incredibly small one.
