Pete Best?
stuart Suttcliffe?

I think C4RT are too developed to be considering early Beatles' 5th or 6th members. What about late unofficial 5th and 6th members such as Billy Preston and Eric Clapton? Or the daddy of all 5th Beatles, George Martin?

ohhhh good point.
what about the artist that did all that weird animated 'yellow submarine', 'magical mystery tour' stuff?
Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-12-15 14:50:49 +0000
That would be Damien.

To veer off topic yet again, did you see that deerhoof just put out a cover off "Bungalow Bill"?
cool beans...

Tell-tale quote from the C4RT website:
"Once again, Ethan Dussault will play the role of "George Martin" to our 'Beatles'."
They're trying to put us off the scent.
Ethan is clearly Mal Evans.

Please don't tell me your favorite Beatle is Paul.
Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-12-15 14:57:01 +0000
Upon consideration, Ethan could even be Murray the K.
Posted by Null Protocol on 2005-12-15 15:06:19 +0000
can I be so lame as to say I dont have a favorite Beatle? I just like the band is all...
Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-12-15 15:38:31 +0000
That is perfectly acceptable.
Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-12-15 16:56:52 +0000
Anyone who doesn't think Paul is the best Beatle is a doodie-head!
Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-12-15 17:00:00 +0000
Tch! Liar!
Posted by bizquig3000 on 2005-12-15 17:00:43 +0000
Who's yours, Lennon? Is it because he was the "rebel?" Or the "martyr?"
Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-12-15 17:02:33 +0000
George. Always has been, always will be.
Good-hearted, hot, and modest. What every good man should be.

I can dig it. I just feel like, the more I've read about the Beatles, it's impossible to ignore Paul's constant drive to keep the band going and to challenge themselves. Especially since he was basically keeping the band together for the string of records the are the only ones people seem to listen to nowadays: i.e. From "Revolver" on. Note that I'm not diminishing the vision or challenges that the other three brought to the table during this period, there were countless great moments and songs, etc.
I love how this Beatles debate is under a "Dokken...?" heading

It's fitting. :-)
I understand what you mean about Paul's drive, and I do appreciate that aspect of his role, however... It's because of him that both George and Ringo walked out on the group (separately) during the late 60's, only to be coaxed back by each other.*
I think George & Ringo held it together on a human level a hell of a lot better than Paul did.

* Example of why I like George:
George spent something like 3 days talking Ringo into returning to the band after he walked out (because of Paul being what I consider to be a bully), then made sure his drumkit was covered with flowers and a "Welcome Back!" sign when he walked back into the studio.

How 'bout it: Paul is a musician. George was an artist.

dont forget "commie"
Posted by frame609 on 2005-12-15 17:21:24 +0000
Paul was/is a painter AND he works for Fidelity!

Close, but no cigar.
Paul = douche

Im giving my mom a Fidelity Investmentds (tm) Paul Mccartney cd for X-mas. are you calling my mom a douche?
Posted by pamsterdam on 2005-12-16 19:23:44 +0000
No, not at all. My favorite husband loves "Sir Paul" (as he lovingly calls him) almost as much as he loves soccer. Which is saying a hell of a lot.
Obviously, I come in a close third.

I was leading you on and be provocative. Its an afterthought stocking stuffer. Id be personally afraid to listen to it myself, but me mum likes that stuff :)
You sure?
Wow. Did I just seriously compare Mccartney to Dokken? Ive been sitting in front of a computer for WAAAAY too long...
Or better yet:
Beatles --> C4RT
Harrison --> McNamara
McCartney --> Quigley
Ringo --> Olds
Harrison totally --> McNamara
stuart Suttcliffe?
