Rethinking

I'm thinking about giving one or part of one of my jobs. I'm not feeling comfortable with it. From all my crappy jobs, I know when I'm not clicking with an employer, and when I'm not being treated right. Maybe I just got used to being an equal in the room. Either way, I have a lot of thinking to do.

Luckily, I had a long talk with my dad last night about my work troubles. And since I was doing most of the talking, I talked my way into the most logical next step...acting as my own union organizer! I'm going to talk with my sister to figure out what the issues are, who is instigating them, how to approach the conversation, and how to make it work through compromise. Hooray for Problem Solving Training!

If that doesn't work, I may try to open a small coffee shop in the JCC or go back to school to get certified in mediation.

Had a long chat with my HR person at the job I'm struggling with and she reassured me that the frustration I'm feeling isn't my fault. That's nice. She also agreed with my strategies for "managing up"...even though I didn't use that phrase. I'm willing to give it two more months. If things don't change by my birthday, I'm going to give myself a gift of few jobs.
