The First Post Jim O'Rourke Record
Now that the Sonik tooth Clan has recovered all of their stolen gear from over 6(!) years ago, (still cant believe THAT story) they will hopefully be releasing new product in 2006.

Interesting. I knew that they found some of their shit, but I didn't know it was stolen in '99. When I saw them at Lalaplooza '95 (so much fun) I thought their stuff had already been stolen, but I guess not.
Sonic Nurse is a great album...

Possibly more interesting than the story of the partial recovery (very partial... three vandalized guitars from an entire truckload of equipment) is that they were staying at a Ramada Inn.
That's indie rock stardom for you.

very jealous I had to miss that show.
as I recall, Dr. Octagon [Kool Keith / Automator / AND Q Bert (!)] were on a few of those dates...

They most definitely weren't on those dates. They were scheduled to be on the 1997 Lollapalooza, but dropped out at the last minute. Ditto for JSBX.

the last lollapaloozer I ever attended was the 2004 one sandwiched by the Boredoms (!) and the Beastie boys.
I was one of 4 kids up at front not in a TOOL shirt and not yelling at EYE to get the fuck off the stage. One of the best live performances I have ever seen. Playing to non-converted audiences isnt for the faint of heart.
I actually got to see them twice in one day, as they had a headlining gig on the 2nd stage. Yoshimi Pee Wee brought out a trumpet. they also had these suntan goggles on and pulled the top of their tshirts over the top of their heads while in the midst of the moment.
The Smashing Pumpkins (supposed to have been Nirvana, but their schedule was kind of cleared after Spring 2004)were laughably bad...

Trivia: the t-shirts on the cover of 'Washing Machine' were signed by Chris Brokaw and Thalia Zedek.
