Al Gore gets into it.
After shedding a few pounds, it seems Al Gore has heated up. A passionate speach to read, it truly seems like he's trying to wake people up and start a dialogue on Bush's grab for power, as Gore has no political ambitions anymore.

Nixon came back after that loss to JFK. A span of 8 years. Gore in '08!
He's already won the popular vote once.

Interesting call, tgl.
Gore has led a great political life, but he still has a bit of scar after not backing the petition before Congress by the Democrat Reps from Florida. (Same goes for Lieberman, btw). Anyone who doesn't have the stones to challenege dubious election results in his own election in Congress, has a problem.

That said, the country recognizes the need for pro-environment leadership, and you could be right, tgl, that Gore is ready again.
With hybrid cars, wind farms, solar power, and bio-diesel gaining tremendous popularity, it seems Gore is a logical choice over other Dems and the oil/coal supporters in the Bush/Cheney crowd. Honestly, who else has the credentials? Sen. Feingold? Sen. Lincoln? Gov. Richards? Gov. Warner?

In this month's "Believer" there's a short film that Spike Jonze shot re: Gore- he is totally likable, smart, and not at all stiff.
