quandary

An old boyfriend is possibly coming through town this weekend and asked to stay with me, rather than with his best friend who he lived with here...across town. I said, "Sure. But this as platonic friends." He agreed, but we'll still be sharing a bed. The big question is: Do I shave my legs anyway?

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-18 19:46:48 +0000
Well, since you'll be fucking him anyway, the question really is: Do you care if you scuff him up a bit in the act?

And, if you don't shave you can hang on to the "I wasn't going to fuck you anyway" cred, even if you really plan to. Would also like to take this opportunity to note that it's not like boys notice whether or not you shave, unless you point it out to them. Much like good underwear. well, except for that one cat, who took a look at the pits and said, "what are you fuckin' french or some shit?"

P.S. you misspelled quandary.

Crossing over state lines = you guys are TOTALLY boning.

I agree with Honor. You lose the whole platonic cred if you do shave.

No, no, no, you aren't kidding anyone. You know you're fucking him. He know's he's fucking you. If either of you tries to weasel out of breakfast in the morning because you claim it was supposed to have been platonic, then you're an asshole. It's a Weekend Special, baby, make the most of it! Don't you want to get some? Don't you want to get some more on Saturday? Also, HtL is right, not shaving will not stop this, however, it may take away from it if you are stubbly. (furry is OK) Besides, who says he knows you haven't shaved already? Maybe you're a regular shaver now?

Regular shaver = live-in lover There are no single regular shavers. Amen.

Oh and PS - if you shave and no sex happens, you might feel angry. If you don't shave and sex does happen, you might feel embarrassed. I think I'd choose potential anger over potential embarrassment, personally. But it's your call. x

Thanks for all the input folks! He's heading to Atlanta...and just passing through. But, he's planning on being in town all through March. If I shave and bone him, does that mean that I am obligated to continue boning when he's living in a hotel here for a month? Honestly, I'm not sure I want that. And I'm cool with not boning him while he's sleeping in my bed. Although I'm closing in on two years without, I'm willing to put it off a bit longer for some I'm truly craving.

Thanks! Fixed it.

You're not obliged to bone him for a month, although the option is there.

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-19 19:02:44 +0000
I think that would chafe.

If I don't shave, or if I do?

Posted by G lib on 2006-01-20 10:59:15 +0000
Shaving has never been a strong point for me, or rather, its not something I'm particularly interested in doing on a regular basis. Sometimes in the summer I shave, just for the hell of it, and Chippy hates it. Particularly the stubble when it comes in. I, myself, am not a fan of the stubble, but like the furry. If you're furry, keep it. If you're stubbly, shave that shit, Miriam!

I'm not totally furry or stubbly...kind of in between. I'll probably shave, but he hasn't said for sure if he's actually coming to visit. Honestly, I don't have time for him this weekend. I want to spend some time at the hospital, and I have to work all day Sunday. Ugh. I even had to work today (my day off) because I had to deal with some kosher inconsistencies for a dinner on Sunday. Again...ugh!

Turns out he didn't make it here this weekend. I shaved anyway. I am single, with no prospects for being a couple, and I still shave. Habit.

Okay, so this dude is in town, for real this time. He took me out to dinner on Sunday night, with one of his coworkers, and he started to nibble on my neck as we were saying farewell. Felt good, but I'm not attracted to him. Attracted to the attention he pays me, but not to him. He's taking me out for my b-day, and going to get me nice and drunk. Again, I pose the question...do I shave?

Posted by buzzorhowl on 2006-03-15 01:12:28 +0000
Better safe than sorry.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2006-03-15 02:51:09 +0000
Isn't the above advice enough?

Posted by Miriam on 2006-03-15 13:32:19 +0000
I like repetition and reassurances.

I decided to shave, but to keep my legs, and everything in between, to myself.
