Even baseball is gay

Talk to me about how gay baseball is.

10D beats his wife!

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-26 17:19:02 +0000
Really, Dawn, I had no idea!

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2006-01-26 17:19:36 +0000
Your psychic says you do it all the time.

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-26 17:23:25 +0000
See, you can't change that one anymore But I can add to this one... For the record, I don't beat my wife.

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2006-01-26 17:23:59 +0000
I've been doing it all the time... Can't change it.

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-26 17:26:32 +0000
Really? I've been avoiding the whole "blog" thing on rs.n for a while since I think it's gay, and, perhaps for this reason alone, it really is gay. Editing any post is weird, but ones that people have commented upon? To which they can't then edit their comments? I do like the dynamic tags, though.

youre a live one today 10 D. Is anything besides baseball not "gay" to you BTW?

Posted by tgl on 2006-01-26 18:00:08 +0000
I can prevent editing of main blog posts. Generally, if you change the content in a substantial way, you should probably mark it with Update or the like.

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-26 18:37:11 +0000
No, Baseball is gay, too, see?

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-26 18:39:18 +0000
I think posts should be uneditable... all of them, comments, blogs, whatever. Like email, or a conversation. You have to say something else to clarify/change your stance, you can't go back and decide, for example, that baseball is no longer gay, and have everyone else's comments seem to be on that matter instead, it takes away their context and subsequently the credibility thereof.

no cred. got it. thanks for the lesson.

I like being able to edit.

Posted by Null Protocol on 2006-01-26 19:01:36 +0000
Well, see, G lib, it's not historically accurate, not to mention being out of favor with 10 D. I'd advise against it.

Posted by G lib on 2006-01-26 19:05:22 +0000
BUT I LIKE BEING ABLE TO EDIT!

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-01-26 19:08:05 +0000
If you want to revise what you had said in a conversation, do you go back in time and say something else? No, you add a new comment to clarify your position.

Time travel is for poooooo-says! So is editing.

poosay is awesome

Posted by G lib on 2006-01-27 11:30:52 +0000
It depends on what kind of writing you're doing. When I'm telling a story, I like to be able to revise it if I've figured out a better way to express something. Not all of rs.n is politicalor sports-related ranting, 10D, just most of it.

Posted by tgl on 2006-01-27 11:35:09 +0000
You can keep posts from being published while you work on them. Not sure if that's available to most users. *COMING SOON*

Posted by Null Protocol on 2006-01-27 11:58:26 +0000
No No No G lib - it needs to be factual, correct, and grammatically pristine the first time Having it be something we could put in an English textbook is much more important than having an RSN audience member get the overall gestalt of the idea easily by editing. Leave the time travel to C4RT. Blog editing is just incorrect and unfair. Grammar, netiquette, and policy police: arrest this Woman! (she buzzes like a fridge...)

I know that rs.net isn't exactly a model of evidentiary material in a strict juridical sense, but editing is really a little over the top.

Posted by Null Protocol on 2006-01-27 12:53:55 +0000
thank you Honar! exactly my point.
