The grass really is greener

As our receptionist high-tailed it out of town (permanently and unexpectedly) last week, part of the job of greeting and answering phones has fallen to me. One of the things that I've found is that this side of our offices is MUCH more conducive to an enjoyable work experience. The walls in this office are white (the other office is puke brown), the space is more open, and the light is much brighter. In addition, the coworkers over here are less snide and cynical. My usual office is like a sewer compared to the reception area. Perhaps my dream of becoming a full-time receptionist will become a reality, eventually.

Thanks, NP! While this place is doing wonders for me now, it turns into an insane asylum during registration. Still, my plan is to insinuate myself into this situation permanently.

We rotate duties here at my office every month (cross training). If today wasn't the first of the month and my duties didn't change I would have jumped off the 18th story of this muthafu--a

Wow. I wish I had a consistent job at this point. Or at least could focus on one thing each week. My six jobs are wearing me out. Still trying to not work more than my paid 30hrs/wk.
