2004 AL Wild Cahd

0.5 gain on Texas and Oakland (still behind Texas though). At over 9 games behind the MFY, at the beginning of August. Well, I just don't see it. Are there still 6 games left, head-to-head? Maybe there is a sweep possibilty w/ the Boston's beefier infield, a new interest in base-running, and the fragility of NY's pitching rotation.

This is about the time in 1978 when the Yankees took four at home from the Sox- the Boston Massacre, as it were. Anything is possible.

Tied for first. Dang. How about a winning streak around here? Can we get up in this piece?

Next three vs. Toronto, then three away vs. CHW and three more against Toronto. After that, four against Detroit, then the season will be decided, I think, by the next stretch: three against both Anaheinm and Texas at Fenway, followed by three in Seattle and four in Oakland. Yow!

Does 1.5 games up on Anaheim qualify for sufficient "separation"?

The West is still sooooo tight- the Sox need to be ahead of everyone in that division. That'd be rad.

Tonight was the first time in a while that Cordero was tocuhed at all. Still, KC lost, though.
