So, this morning, I thought I'd get up early so that I could take a relaxation/meditation/anti-stress workshop this afternoon. That, after waking up in the middle of the night when my hot water bottle wet the bed...so strange.
Anyway, I started my morning routine, and within 10 minutes, turned on the shower radio (BBC world report was on), and got in. Usually I check for bugs that may have crawled up through the pipes or somehow gotten stuck in the tub (past invaders include: spiders, crickets, enormous roach-looking water bugs), but for some reason I didn't today.
After adjusting the temperature, I turned around to wet my hair and saw a
camel cricket at the far end of my tub. Of course, by that point, I wasn't going to get out of the shower, and neither was it. Ironically, BBC was giving the cricket scores and every time the announcer said "cricket" I started laughing at being stuck in the shower with one of my least favorite things.
In the end, we parted amicably. Sure, I'll try to kill it later, but for now, my enemy lives...in my tub.
