I could humbly add/offer Jeb Bishop and George Lewis, but I cant disagree that Jazz trombone players are a rare commodity...

I forget where I heard the review –probably 'GBH or maybe even "Fresh Air"– of a younger trombonist doing Theloniuous Monk covers.

When Roswell was younger he did a lot of Monk covers. Unless they were talking about a contemporary 'bonist, it may have been him.
