The Village apreesh
Last night I finally got around to seeing The Village, a movie which both my friends and professional movie-goers universally think is horrible. But I really liked it, not so much as a horror flick, but as a story and as a visual feast. In fact, I don't even think it was intended to be a horror flick, and it's a shame it was marketed that way. The cinematography was super, the acting was pretentious and self-conscious in an absolutely wonderful way, and I really enjoyed the somewhat disjointed feel of the film. A lovely movie, highly recommended.
